Quality Inspection Technician- Pay Range $17-20 DOE

Location: 5150 NW 40th St Lincoln, NE 68524

First Shift: Monday-Thursday

Description: Metalworks is looking to hire an individual with a passion for quality and customer service. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspection in Welding, Rolling and Kitting/Assembly to ensure that products comply with internal and external quality standards, and to ensure that operators are correctly following procedures.  This individual will be responsible for the overall dimensional and visual quality of all products produced by Metalworks.  You will also participate in identifying and implementing continuous quality improvements. The best candidates will express a high level of pride and responsibility for the work they perform.  Candidate must be thorough and have a high attention to detail. Must be able to present themselves in a professional manner on a daily basis.   

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Complete PPAP/First Article Inspection and documentation
  • First Piece and Spot Inspection throughout the manufacturing process
  • Corrective Action participant
  • Utilize Faro Arm for certain dimensional applications.  Will be trained upon hire.  
  • Create Inspection forms

Required Skills:

  • Proficient with common measuring equipment (calipers, protractors, height gauges, pin gauges, squares)
  • Ability to interpret measurement requirements on drawings (including weld symbols and GD&T)
  • Competent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organize and effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum education - high school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a QC technician in a production environment
  • Previous experience in an ISO 9001 environment preferred
  • English verbal and written communication required
  • Experience using Excel as a database and reporting tool
  • Ability to lift 15-35 lbs. may be required
     

Production Material Processor- Pay Range $15-16 DOE

Location: 301 P St Lincoln NE 68508

First Shift (5:30AM-4PM) Monday-Thursday (Fridays are reserved for mandatory OT when applicable)

Weekend Shift (5AM-5:30PM) Friday-Saturday-Sunday (Work 36 hours but get paid for 40 hours!)

Description: Remove and organize parts from steel sheets and record progress

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Safely remove parts from steel sheets
  • Stack and organize parts for the next operations
  • Use hand tools to remove any tabbing or scale
  • Analyze each piece for surface quality defects
  • Accurately record completed work on computer
  • Able to work in groups or teams
  • Operate a forklift to stage materials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift experience-REQUIRED
  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Print reading experience is beneficial
  • Basic math
  • Good communication skills is a must
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows

 

Weekend Robotic Forming Operator- Pay Range: $17 - $20 DOE

Location: 301 P St Lincoln NE 68508

Weekend Shift: 5 AM-5:30PM Friday-Saturday-Sunday (Work 36 hours but get paid for 40 hours!)

Description: The purpose of a Robot Forming Operator is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all robotically automated forming cells at our P Street location. This shift is intended to help level load the hand forming department to minimize and ultimately eliminate the need for OT. These team members will be responsible for set-up, operation and troubleshooting of all automated cells. Although the shift will start out small, it does have the possibility to develop into a larger team depending on workload and team performance.

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Practice smart operating techniques to ensure the safety of the entire team
  • Set-up of new jobs on all cells
  • Efficient production operation with ability to meet proven job rates
  • Troubleshooting of faults experienced during automated production
  • Part inspections
  • Non-conforming part quarantine and labeling
  • Material handling via forklift (training provided by Metalworks)
  • Accurate job progress data recording (both handwritten as well as through Metalworks ERP system)

You will be provided on the job training that will occur during the normal Mon – Thurs (5:30am – 4:00pm) work week until you are ready to transition to the weekend shift. This however is not a pre-determined time period. You will transfer once we feel you are ready. Experience will be necessary for these positions. If you do not have specific experience with the operation of the equipment we are hiring for, general manufacturing experience may be sufficient.

 

Press Brake Operator- Pay Range: $16-$22 DOE

First Shift (5:30AM-4PM) Monday-Thursday (Friday is reserved for mandatory OT when applicable)

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Set-up of hydraulic CNC Press Brakes.
  • Forming parts to print and documenting progress.
  • Maintaining efficiency in high volume environment.
  • Maintaining minimum or preferably zero scrap levels.
  • Identifying material defects throughout the runs.
  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs repetitively for 12/hr shifts.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years minimum experience in Press Brake or similar machine operation
  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Print reading experience is beneficial
  • Basic math
  • Good communication skills is a must
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows

 

Weekend Pinch Rolling OperatorPay Range: $17 - $20 DOE

Location: 5150 NW 40th St Lincoln, NE 68524

Weekend Shift: 5 AM-5:30PM Friday-Saturday-Sunday (Work 36 hours but get paid for 40 hours!)

Description: The purpose of a Pinch Rolling Operator is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our pinch rolling machines at our Air Park location. This shift is intended to help level load the rolling department to minimize and ultimately eliminate the need for OT. These team members will be responsible for set-up, operation and troubleshooting of all pinch rolling machines. Although the shift will start out small, it does have the possibility to develop into a larger team depending on workload and team performance.

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Practice smart operating techniques to ensure the safety of the entire team
  • Set-up of new jobs on all machines
  • Efficient production operation with ability to meet proven job rates
  • Troubleshooting of faults experienced during operation
  • Part inspections using check gauges as well as other inspection tools
  • Non-conforming part quarantine and labeling
  • Material handling via forklift (training provided by Metalworks)
  • Accurate job progress data recording (both handwritten as well as through Metalworks ERP system)


You will be provided on the job training that will occur during the normal Mon – Thurs (6 am – 4:30 pm) work week until you are ready to transition to the weekend shift. This however is not a pre-determined time period. You will transfer once we feel you are ready. Experience will be necessary for these positions. If you do not have specific experience with the operation of the equipment we are hiring for, general manufacturing experience may be sufficient.

 

CDL Class A Driver and Warehouse- Pay Range: $18 - $20

DOE Location: 5150 NW 40th St Lincoln NE 68524 First Shift: Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM* (Friday is for mandatory OT when applicable) *Hours will need to be flexible, but you will be home every night!

Description: Safely transfer product to and from Metalworks facilities as well as a couple regional locations using all types of delivery vehicles within our fleet. This position will also share warehouse responsibilities with the rest of the team.

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Practice smart operating techniques to ensure your safety, co-workers safety as well as the safety of the public
  • Maintain a valid Class A CDL with up-to-date medical card
  • Transport product between Metalworks facilities as well as to and from vendors using tractor trailers (53’), flatbed trailers, and pickup trucks. Actual windshield time may only be about 50% of your time
  • Assist in prepping and tagging of product at either facility. Loading and unloading work in process (WIP) with forklifts and pallet jacks as well as picking orders and loading trailers for deliveries
  • Deliver product to customers in a polite and professional manner with the understanding that you are the face that is representing Metalworks during those times
  • Verifying part numbers and counts on packing lists as it is being unloaded by customer to ensure document accuracy and quality
  • Become forklift certified in order to handle product going in and coming off truck (Certification provided by Metalworks)

You will be provided on the job training with “ride-a-longs” to get you familiarized with all locations associated with Metalworks customer and vendor base.

Experience is required for our CDL A positions. Requirements are a minimum of 1 year CDL A driving experience, or certification from a credited truck driver training program.

 

Welder- Pay Range $18- $20

DOE Location: 5150 NW 40th St Lincoln NE 68524

Weekend Shift: 5AM-5:30PM Friday-Sunday (Work 36 hours but get paid for 40!)

Description: Metalworks is looking for a motivated, production-minded individual with a passion for quality to join the welding department.  As a Welder you will be responsible for creating a quality product while meeting production goals.

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to verify quality production
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare/finish the welded parts
  • Align components using fixtures, calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal)
  • Provide continuous improvement feedback to help increase productivity

Required Skills

  • Experience using MIG and/or TIG equipment
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and production efficiency
  • Minimum Qualifications AAS in Welding Technology or two years of welding experience
  • Proficient in English
  • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) is a plus

 

Robot Welding Operator- Pay Range $17 - $19
